Since you asked…
• I grew up in a string of small towns in Western Canada
• My Dad was a salesman, Mom stayed at home and raised four boys
• I wanted to be just like my Dad, but my teachers all said I should be an architect
• I got my first camera in the ninth grade
• It didn't leave my side all through High School
• I bailed on the architect idea and spent a couple of years in photo school
• At 21 I was a big success
• In Calgary
• At 22 I moved to New York
• New Yorkers didn’t care about my big success in Calgary
• At 25 was shooting for Life magazine
• Then came Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, BusinessWeek, Esquire, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and the London Sunday Times Magazine
• Advertising clients followed with IBM, General Motors, The NFL, Pepsi, GlaxoSmithKline, Pacific Bell...
• I've shot a lotta really cool people
• I'm a cat person
• I'm a wine geek
• I'm a watch geek
• I ride downhill mountain bikes
• ...too fast
• I constantly remind myself where I came from
